Possible 2024

Our view: A relaxing break to experience the best of this region. Based in the same hotel and with low mileage this should suit both riders & pillions alike.

We start and finish this fully guided tour in Calais. With morning coffee stop, lunch and afternoon coffee break we aim to arrive at our 4* hotel late afternoon. You can unpack as we’re here for 3 nights! Dinner – with champagne! – is included tonight in the hotel restaurant adjacent to the rooftop bar.

Day two we offer a ride-out following the “Route Touristique de Champagne”. We start by stopping to see the old racetrack just outside Reims, then ride some really good roads through the vineyards stopping at a surprise location for a morning coffee. We then continue riding past small, independent champagne producers, down the “Avenue de Champagne” into Epernay for our lunch stop. Continuing through the vineyards we head back to Reims.

We then visit our first Champagne house with a guided tour followed by a tasting of three different champagnes.

This evening is at your leisure, our hotel is centrally located with many restaurants nearby to choose from.

Day three gives you time to explore Reims: visit the Cathedral (photographs may be taken inside), or just wander round the cobbled backstreets. After lunch (not included) we include a visit this time to a smaller Champagne house which has cellars dating back to the 4th century, again with a guided tour and tasting of three different champagnes.

This evening a gourmet dinner with more champagne is included at a fabulous local restaurant (yes, we had to test it!).

Day four we start heading home, with a morning coffee break & lunch stop we then take motorway back to Calais for a late afternoon arrival.

Total mileage for the tour: 485 miles (including 135 miles of motorway), longest day 205 miles, optional ride-out 90 miles

This will be a fully guided motorbike tour with a luggage van included in the price. The van follows the same route as the tour and is available to store jackets & helmets at any of the stops. The routes have been extensively researched and as we stop every hour and a half for coffee, lunch or fuel, pillions will not be too long in the saddle. We always use a “second man drop off” marker system with a tail end rider so you will not need to refer to maps or sat-navs and as we limit the number of bikes on a tour to a maximum of 15 no-one is kept waiting too long.

The hotel we have chosen has a 4* rating and secure parking is in the hotel’s underground garage. Full details will be provided in the tour pack which is sent out 3 – 4 weeks before the tour starts.
