If you choose to withdraw from a tour once it has started, no refund will be given.
We reserve the right to cancel a tour if the minimum number of participants is not reached eight weeks prior to the departure date. In this event we may offer you an alternative tour of the same value or a full refund. We may however still run the tour but without a luggage van if participants are in agreement with this.
In the event that we have to cancel a tour or there is a major change to the itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control i.e. “Force Majeure” events – which include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, terrorist activity, natural disasters, industrial action etc then no refund or compensation payments will be made. Please ensure you have suitable travel insurance in place for such an event.
Update 3 April 2020 – we set out below the provisions of the European Union (Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements) Regulations 2019 in respect of “extraordinary circumstances” which the Company will follow:
In the event that the Foreign & Commonwealth Office advise against travel to a particular country as a result of the Covid-19 “Coronavirus” pandemic and this affects a scheduled Tour then you may transfer your deposit and balance to another Tour in 2020 (subject to availability) however if this is not possible, then any balances that have been paid will be refunded by the Company and any deposits may be transferred to another Tour in 2021.
The Company is not required to pay any additional compensation as the reason for the Tour not taking place is outside of our control.
This ONLY applies when a Tour cannot take place due to the FCO travel advice; it does not apply to any non-immediate departures that are not currently affected. Any cancellations for future Tours that are not affected will be subject to the Cancellation Charges as set out above.
In the event there is a major change to the itinerary of a tour which reduces the quality of the tour and is not considered a “force majeure” event, if you no longer wish to participate in the tour we may offer you an alternative tour of the same value or you may cancel your booking and receive a full refund.
If balances are not paid when due (i.e. 8 weeks before the tour start date) then we will have to consider this as a cancellation and the deposit paid will be forfeited – as per the Cancellation Charges as set out above.
Transportation – in exceptional circumstances only, in the event that transportation of you and/or your bike and/or your luggage is undertaken by the Company, the Company will charge £2.00 per kilometre.
You must be in possession of a valid British or EU passport (or visa if required). You must bring the originals of your driver’s licence, insurance certificate and registration document. It is a legal requirement in Europe to carry these papers with your bike.
Please check if prior notice to your insurer is required for a trip abroad as otherwise your cover may be invalid. You should also have European cover for breakdown and repatriation of your bike, yourself and any pillion. This cover should also include the costs of any hire vehicle required. Link to Holiday Safe Insurance is here
You must bring an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) – this will be required in the event that you need medical treatment. Failure to do so will leave you liable for any medical expenses.
You should arrange suitable travel insurance to cover cancellation of your holiday and repatriation in the event of illness, accident or “Force Majeure” event.
You must ensure your bike is in a roadworthy condition to complete the trip – minimum tyre tread is 1.6mm in Europe. There is no need to adjust your headlamp, but you should affix a GB/European sticker to your number plate.
It is the owners sole responsibility to ensure baggage is placed in the van.
In the event of travel delays resulting in your late arrival it will be your responsibility to continue the tour unaccompanied until joining up with the rest of the group. The Company cannot be held responsible for any additional costs you may incur as a result.
It will be your responsibility to comply with any legal requirements for riding in Europe; a summary of the main points will be included within your Tour Information Pack however this will only be a summary and you should make yourself aware of each country’s requirements.
You will be required to sign the following Disclaimer upon arrival:
You are deemed to be in control of and fully responsible for your bike at all times. BN European Tours Limited does not accept liability for any claims, actions, proceedings, death, injury, illness or damage howsoever caused other than through gross negligence. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the tour at any time if in our opinion your conduct is unacceptable or not that of a conscientious rider. In the event that you are asked to leave the tour no refund will be given.
You will be required to acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to the above Disclaimer, that you have suitable insurance for your motorcycle whilst abroad and that you will respect each country’s Highway Code.
We shall honour the tour itinerary as far as it is within our control. We cannot be held responsible for anything beyond our control e.g. the unavailability of any amenities or the closure of any attractions. Every effort will be made to find a suitable alternative to fulfill the itinerary.
In the event you have any special dietary requirements we shall forward the details to the relevant hotel(s) however the hotel(s) is(are) ultimately responsible for the preparation of meals.
The back-up luggage van is provided in good faith, but we cannot be held responsible should the vehicle break down or become unavailable due to vandalism, theft or any other unforeseen event.
Luggage is carried at the discretion of BN European Tours Limited and at the owners’ sole risk. The Company cannot be held responsible for its loss or damage whilst carried in the back-up van. Furthermore, the Company cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to luggage or the contents thereof caused due to searches by authorised bodies (Customs, Police etc.)
BN European Tours Limited cannot be held responsible for late arrival of luggage and personal items should the back-up van be delayed due to circumstances beyond our control.
It will not be an option for customers to travel in the back-up luggage van, other than in exceptional circumstances.
In the event of an accident the appropriate course of action will be taken. This may involve a delay to the tour in the event that the emergency services are needed. Your patience and understanding will be appreciated and the tour will continue as quickly as possible.
