If you choose to withdraw from a tour once it has started, no refund will be given.
We reserve the right to cancel a tour if the minimum number of participants is not reached eight weeks prior to the departure date. In this event we may offer you an alternative tour of the same value or a full refund. We may however still run the tour but without a luggage van if participants are in agreement with this.
In the event that we have to cancel a tour or there is a major change to the itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control i.e. “Force Majeure” events – which include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, terrorist activity, natural disasters, industrial action etc then no refund or compensation payments will be made. Please ensure you have suitable travel insurance in place for such an event.
We set out below the provisions of the European Union (Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements) Regulations 2019 in respect of “extraordinary circumstances” which the Company will follow:
In the event that the Foreign & Commonwealth Office advise against travel to a particular country as a result of the Covid-19 “Coronavirus” pandemic and this affects a scheduled Tour then you may transfer your deposit and balance to another Tour in the same year (subject to availability) however if this is not possible, then any balances that have been paid will be refunded by the Company and any deposits may be transferred to another Tour in the next year.
The Company is not required to pay any additional compensation as the reason for the Tour not taking place is outside of our control.
This ONLY applies when a Tour cannot take place due to the FCO travel advice; it does not apply to any non-immediate departures that are not currently affected – i.e. several months in advance. Any cancellations for future Tours that are not affected will be subject to the Cancellation Charges as set out above.
In the event there is a major change to the itinerary of a tour which reduces the quality of the tour and is not considered a “force majeure” event, if you no longer wish to participate in the tour we may offer you an alternative tour of the same value or you may cancel your booking and receive a full refund.
If balances are not paid when due (i.e. 8 weeks before the tour start date) then we will have to consider this as a cancellation and the deposit paid will be forfeited – as per the Cancellation Charges as set out above.
Transportation – in exceptional circumstances only, in the event that transportation of you and/or your bike and/or your luggage is undertaken by the Company, the Company will charge £2.00 per kilometre.
You must be in possession of a valid British or EU passport (or visa if required) with at least 6 months validity remaining. You must bring the originals of your driver’s licence, insurance certificate, green card and registration document. It is a legal requirement in Europe to carry these papers with your bike.
Please check if prior notice to your insurer is required for a trip abroad as otherwise your cover may be invalid. You should also have European cover for breakdown and repatriation of your bike, yourself and any pillion. This cover should also include the costs of any hire vehicle required. Link to Holiday Safe Insurance is here
You must bring an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) – this will be required in the event that you need medical treatment. Failure to do so will leave you liable for any medical expenses.
You should arrange suitable travel insurance to cover cancellation of your holiday and repatriation in the event of illness, accident or “Force Majeure” event.
You must ensure your bike is in a roadworthy condition to complete the trip – minimum tyre tread is 1.6mm in Europe. There is no need to adjust your headlamp, but you should affix a GB/European sticker to your number plate.
Please check our “Advice” page for more information.
It is the owners sole responsibility to ensure baggage is placed in the van.
In the event of travel delays resulting in your late arrival it will be your responsibility to continue the tour unaccompanied until joining up with the rest of the group. The Company cannot be held responsible for any additional costs you may incur as a result.
It will be your responsibility to comply with any legal requirements for riding in Europe; a summary of the main points will be included within your Tour Information Pack however this will only be a summary and you should make yourself aware of each country’s requirements.
You will be required to sign the following Disclaimer upon arrival:
