Highlights – Ride the famous B500; Visit the High Rhine Waterfalls in Switzerland; Cuckoo clocks galore! Stay 3 nights in the Black Forest
Sunday 3 – Saturday 9 August 2025
Our view: Ride the back roads to the Black Forest, eat too much gateaux and go on a diet! This part of Germany is a hot spot and it’s easy to see why. Stunning scenery, brilliant flowing roads and lots of twisties, great hotels, a day off the bikes and not too high mileages makes this Tour popular for riders and pillions alike.
This trip starts and finishes at Calais (or other agreed meeting/departure points). The first day we ride through France into the Ardennes region of Belgium, riding fast sweepers and twisty forest roads. Dinner tonight is included at a 3* or 4* hotel.
The next day we continue into Germany arriving early evening at Baden-Baden, in the Black Forest. This evening is at your leisure; our hotel is centrally located in the pedestrian area so you can easily explore this Roman spa town.
Day three we ride down through the Black Forest on the famous B500, stopping to view the largest cuckoo clock in the world en route to our traditional, family run hotel for the next two nights situated next to the largest lake in the Southern Black Forest. Dinner is included the first night here.
Day four is a free day for you to chill out, take the steam train to Titisee or alternatively join us on a ride out to see the largest waterfalls in Europe on the High Rhine near Schaffhausen.
The next day we ride some real twisties heading out of the Black Forest then cross the Rhine into France spending time riding in the Vosges Mountains (more twisties) before arriving at our hotel on the banks of the Moselle river. The old town centre is just a short stroll away where there are lots of restaurants offering varied cuisine to choose from.
Day six we ride through the Champagne region of France heading towards our final 3* hotel which has views across the lake of BBC TV’s “Merlin’s Castle”. Dinner tonight is included.
The last day we head back to Calais in time to catch a late afternoon crossing, stopping en-route at Albert where there will be time to visit the 1916 War Museum.
This will be a fully guided motorcycle tour from the moment you arrive at the port of Calais (or tunnel) and will be run at a moderate pace – although you do need to be experienced to ride the roads on this tour. The routes have been extensively researched and as we always stop every hour & a half for coffee, lunch or fuel any pillions will not be too long in the saddle. As we use a tried & tested “drop-off” marker system with a tail-end rider there is no need for you to refer to road books or maps.
During this Tour we will stay in small, independent hotels, all with plenty of character and biker friendly. A luggage van – included in the price – follows the same route as the tour and is available for you to store jackets & helmets at any of the stops.
