Our view : Great roads and scenery staying in the fabulous, picturesque town of Colmar. With a ride-out into the Vosges Mountains and an optional visit to see the Schlumph motor collection at Mulhouse this is not a high mileage tour and with three nights in the same hotel this will really suit pillions
We first ran this tour in 2020 as a replacement for the Rhine in Flames which unfortunately was cancelled due to Covid-19. The group thought it was so good (see the Testimonial here) that we have decided to offer it as a new tour in its own right. There are some great roads through the Vosges Mountains en-route to our 4* hotel and again on an optional ride-out.
The tour will start and end at Calais. We will take some motorway (Peage) after coffee this morning stopping for lunch in a pretty French market town. We then ride through the French Ardennes to our first hotel. Dinner with wine is included this evening.
The next day we have a coffee stop at Verdun then ride some fabulous sweepers in the Lorraine National Park & twisty roads in the Vosges Mountains, en-route to Colmar and our 4* hotel for the next three nights, which is just a short walk from the town centre. Dinner with wine is included again this evening in the hotel restaurant.
Day 3 is free for you to visit the town or, as we have done on previous years, join a ride-out to explore more of the fantastic roads in the Vosges Mountains, stopping for lunch on top of one of the peaks. Returning to our hotel mid-afternoon, the evening is at your leisure and there are numerous restaurants in the town centre to choose from.
The next day you can take the train to the Cite de l’Automobile at Mulhouse to see the Schlumph Motor collection – highly recommended by those who have been. Alternatively explore more of the town by following the “route touristique” footsteps to see some lovely sights. This evening is again at your leisure.
On day 5 we move on to our next destination. Our 3* hotel has an indoor swimming pool and dinner with wine is included tonight.
Our last day is the return leg when after lunch we take 100 miles of peage motorway back to Calais arriving in time for an early evening crossing.
This is a fully guided motorcycle tour from the moment you arrive at Calais. The routes have been extensively researched and as we always stop every hour and a half for coffee, lunch or fuel it will really suit pillions. We use our tried & tested “2nd man drop-off marker system” so there is no need for you to refer to maps.
Approx riding stats: Total 900 miles (excluding 100 mile optional ride-out); First day 240 miles of which 65 miles is peage motorway – this is the longest day. Total peage motorway 165 miles.
Price: £t.b.c per person in a shared room, £t.b.c for a single room – includes:-
- 6 day fully escorted tour led by an experienced British guide – who speaks French
- 5 nights hotel accommodation with en-suite facilities and breakfasts
- 3 evening meals with wine
- Tour Information Pack (to include itinerary, hotel details, explanation of marker system etc…)

Your ferry/tunnel crossing, peages (approx 10 euros), any entry fees and meals/drinks other than as stated above are not included.
A deposit of £295 per person is payable upon booking with the balance due 8 weeks before departure.
We need a minimum of 12 participants to run the tour.
