Châteaux & Sancerre Tour 19-25 May 2010

“What a great adventure!!
A big THANK YOU to you both for such a great time. We are still buzzing from our tour with you in France. Everything was so well organised from the pick up at the ferry to our return departure Can’t wait for our next adventure with you. Many thanks,”

Amboise

“We have been basking in memories of a very special time with you and a great bunch of people, and feel really relaxed as a result of a week of laughter, great riding and great food and wine. The memories of golden beer and balloons, wisteria walks and fountains, group photos and food, all enhance the thrill of the gears changing down into those bends.. For me, on pillion, I recall those lovely roads, through fields of vibrant yellow rape and deep green corn, the hedges of yellow laburnum with a backdrop of a cloudless blue sky…You are two of the world’s best, thanks for doing what you do so well, looking forward to next time”

“Firstly, thanks for a great trip to Sancerre. We can’t really think of anything we would have changed other than lowering the temperature a few degrees! We took over 180 pictures…so there is no shortage of memories, some of the pictures are hilarious and some need some serious censoring! We’re sure we will be back again”

It is obvious you worked hard researching the whole trip in providing top quality accommodation and roads which provide brilliant scenery. “John, Jen,

I can only thank you for organising the trip. We have always wanted to ride from Spain up to Northern France on the bike and this trip could not have made the experience any better. The roads, company, hotels, scenery and places we visited were just superb. It is very rare that we want to go back to the same place twice but we will hopefully join you for the same trip next year. We can only thank you for putting the effort in to find the hotels and roads that made our holiday one of the best we have ever had.”

Brilliant Roads

Reims famous for its Champagne.

World Superbikes at Magny Cours (and Stupendous Roads)

Resurrected due to popular demand! 29 Sept – 3 October 2018 T.B.C.

Our view: This Tour was for many years the traditional end to our on-road season and although late in the year we’ve never had rain at the circuit on race day. You will ride some phenomenal roads – riding beside the Bourgogne canal in the Autumn is a highlight of our year. We’ve been doing this Tour since before starting Bike Normandy (now BN European Tours) and promise you mile after mile of sweeping bends and twisties that you will not forget! The days are longer and riding is not at a leisurely pace so will only suit pillions who enjoy being on the back.

See more photos & read the reviews of previous Tours here.

The trip starts in Le Havre and finishes in Dieppe (this is to be confirmed). Breakfast in Honfleur is followed by a 260-mile ride to Sancerre, our base for two nights, where dinner is included on the first evening. We then ride the back roads to Magny Cours on race day where entry to the circuit is also included. (We have heard that the racing is now spread over two days – we would intend to go to the circuit on the Sunday for the second race).

Day three we experience the most fabulous roads in the Morvan region, passing through the vineyards and alongside the canals of Bourgogne to our hotel in the centre of Dijon – this day’s riding will be “mustard”!

The fantastic roads continue on the next day as we head off through rolling hills and forests to the Champagne capital of Reims. Our late afternoon arrival gives us time to sample the local “brew” in one of the famous Caves before dinner which is included on our final evening.

On day five we leave the vineyards behind and head back to the coast, still on great, traffic free roads through the French countryside.

This tour will be run at a moderate/brisk pace and as we use a tried & tested “drop-off” marker system with a tail-end rider there is no need for you to refer to road books or maps.

Please contact us for more details – remember there are limited places on this motorbike holiday and with it being run at a moderate / brisk pace it will only suit experienced riders and pillions who are happy to be on the back seat – rather than sightseeing.

Approx riding stats: Total 1000 miles; Longest day 260 miles; Motorway 20 miles

Price £595 per person – this includes:-

  • Five days of fantastic riding led by experienced British guides – who speak French !
  • Hotel accommodation with breakfasts for 4 nights in a shared room with en-suite facilities(1)
  • Evening meals with wine on 2 nights
  • Entry to WSB at Magny Cours(2)
  • Entry to a Champagne House at Reims
  • Tour Information Pack (to include itinerary, hotels, explanation of marker system, contact details etc.
(1) Single room supplement £175
(2) Paddock pass extra £20

Your ferry crossing and meals / drinks other than as stated above are not included.

A deposit of £95 per person is payable upon booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before departure.
