Oradour sur-Glane & the Falaise Gap – 22–27 April 2011

Pegasus Bridge raised just for Bike Normandy guests!

“Thank you for an extremely well organized WW2 Tour. I am not used to riding with other people but your marker system allowed me to ride at my own pace and yet be part of the group as well. I cannot recommend you enough as this was my first European trip and I felt completely at ease. Many thanks for a great time – I will be back”

Steve Jones, BMW GS8OO

Stroll round the ramparts at La Rochelle

“Bonjour John & Jen. Well, what can I say? Just an amazing trip, riding with good people on fabulous roads, but over too soon! I can’t thank you enough for a great holiday and showing us what France has to offer…please DO NOT change the way you do things, it really is pretty perfect as it is…”

 Dave Washington, BMW 1200 GS

Parking with the Mayor’s permission at La Roche Bernard!

“Just wanted to drop you a few lines to say thank you for the wonderful six days WW2 Tour I just had with you. The riding, the roads and all the sites we visited were fantastic. You both put a lot of effort into researching the trip and running it which shows in the great fun and enjoyment we all had. Don’t change anything you are doing, you’ve got it right!”

Geoff Newnham, Triumph Street Triple

Plenty of time to visit the “Martyr Village” at Oradour-sur-Glane

“I went on this Tour not sure what to expect as I’ve never been on a bike tour before. Thoughts of flying down motorways and dual carriageways never materialised, only a beautiful mix of winding and open country roads. Did not imagine how good it was going to be. I would like to thank you both for a fantastic six days, I cannot think of a time that I have enjoyed so much. We had the weather, good roads, great sites, great company and fantastic hosts. And I am convinced that even if the weather did not hold out we would still have enjoyed the run.  Again, thanks for a great time!” . Will definitely be back! Whatever you do, do not change the formula!

 Eddie Hanly, Kawasaki ZZR1400

Testimonial 4×4 2011

By Testimonials Tours

 4 x 4 Tour (4 Countries in 4 Nights)  28 May – 1 June 2011

Great group, fabulous weather, stunning view over the Rhine…

“Having just completed the Bike Normandy 4×4 Tour we are amazed how these guys do it.
From dawn to dusk they are working to ensure that your trip will be one that will be remembered. Anyone who rides a bike should – if only once in their life – ride with Bike Normandy, to see how a trip should be organised and managed…even Stevie Wonder would have seen just how much research and preparation goes into the trip.
I take my hat off to them.”
Ron & Sue Hutchinson, FJR 1300, Doncaster

The prettiest villages for coffee stops

“The most amazing 4×4 Tour!! Thank you so much for yet another fantastic tour. We loved the tour from start to finish, in fact we didn’t want it to end!! Scenery, hotels, food, rides and amazing company. Both of you really do work hard ensuring everyone has a good time and we did!! I don’t know how you could top the 4×4 – maybe an 8×8 !!! But that’s another tour…please!!”
Chris & Kath, BMW1200RT, Wales

“Hi John & Jen – a few comments on the tour…
Organisation – awesome; Roads – awesome +++; Accommodation – awesome;
Company – awesome +++; Fun factor – off the scale; Value for money – you’d better believe it!
Sharing a room with Geoff “I’m free” Bristow & Brian “Shut that door” Edgington – an education !
Will I be back next year? You bet I will!
Thank you for a brilliant 4×4″
Geoff Keats, BMW S1000RR, Northants

“We had a great time on the 4×4 Tour – it was all brilliant…hotels, meals, the routes, the pace of riding
and the hosting was exceptional and very professional!
A big thank you to you both and to John & Rita for their sterling work as back markers.
The only thing you need to get sorted is the weather in Luxembourg on Tuesday mornings!!!
Now we need to decide which Tour we’ll be doing in 2012 and book before the NEC!”
Geoff Bristow (with Geoff & Trigg!), Triumph Rocket lll, Northants

 Fantastic Roads

“Having ridden with Bike Normandy previously we booked the 4×4 Tour with great expectations – and we were not disappointed. Riding along the Mosel river, in the morning sunshine, with fabulous scenery around each bend was a particular delight. Good roads, comfortable hotels and great company – it could not have been better.
Thanks for some terrific memories”
Steve & Jean Canning, FJR 1300, Doncaster

Plenty of photo opportunities along the way

“We just wanted to let you know once again how much we thoroughly enjoyed the 4×4 bike adventure.

As you know it was our first time riding the bike outside of the UK and in a group. It was an extremely well organised trip – you have thought of and planned everything to precision with a truly professional approach, which enabled us to enjoy the riding without any stress of where the next petrol station would be etc…
The marker system was so easy to follow and kept us all on the right track…so we didn’t lose anyone. Well done to John & Rita as back up riders!
The scenery was wonderful and so diverse – from winding through woodland, quaint traditional villages to hills and river views – we covered them all. The group were so friendly and welcoming and given our inexperience of European roads they were so supportive and encouraging…the experience has increased Ray’s confidence and handling of the bike in such a short space of time – what a way to improve !
We had great fun and met up with a wonderful bunch of people who we hope to meet up with again on other tours as we will definitely be back. You are a great couple and huge thanks for a fantastic adventure that we won’t forget.”

Testimonial WW2 August 2009

By Testimonials Tours, Uncategorized

WW2 sights – including Pegasus Bridge, Landing Beaches, St Nazaire, Oradour sur-Glane & the Falaise Gap 21 – 26 August 2009

“Just to say many, many thanks for a fantastic holiday on the World War 2 tour. Having never been abroad on the bike before we could not have had a better couple to show us around. The roads, hotels and food were perfect and the whole week was very professionally done, you could tell you have spent many hours researching the routes and all other aspects of the trip. What did make the holiday extra special was not only your Company but the people we met, everyone was fantastic and we haven’t laughed so much on a holiday before. It was an experience we will never forget and will definitely be back.
Once again many thanks to you both…from our point of view the week was perfect as was the company and we would recommend the trip to anyone…”
Andy & Edith Taylor (Triumph Tiger)

“Thanks again for a fantastic trip. It could not have been better in any way. It was the best fun I’ve had in years”
Ian Titman-Read (BMW K1200GT)

“Yet again a fantastic trip. Tour started with breakfast with strangers and ended with dinner with friends. Fabulous Food. Luscious Locations. Perfectly Planned. Cracking Company. The best 6 days we’ve had in ages. Can’t wait for the next one. Great balance between time on and off the bike. Marker system worked superbly. The circus was a bonus!”
[you had to be there] Jim & Alison Ross (BMW 1200RT)

“Thank you very much for a wonderful time on the WW2 Sights
Tour, it was superb and we haven’t stopped talking about it.
Not only have we learnt so much about the war, we have made some lovely friends and I have learnt so much about my bike and how to ride it, thanks to some very experienced riders. The whole trip has been a great education and the places we visited were of great interest. The accommodation and food were great and the marker system was ideal in keeping the group together – especially as I had ever ridden a bike abroad before. Your hospitality and organisation is second to none and if anyone is thinking of booking a bike tour then we will have no hesitation in recommending you (in fact we doubt if there could be anyone better). If we have any criticism about the tour then it is “WHY DID IT HAVE TO END?” We look forward to being accosted at the NEC Bike Show again! as we shall be booking another trip with yourselves… With very kind regards”

World Superbikes at Magny Cours and Stupendous Roads October 2009

“Wow what an excellent tour. And those roads? They are so addictive! I was riding all day long with a big stupid grin on my face!!!  Once again Bike Normandy delivered a fantastic riding xperience….wow I want to do those roads again…and again…and again!!

You and Jen: Excellent tour hosts as always, you are both genuinely lovely people, we had some great laughs with you both and as always riding with you and Jen is a pure pleasure, like a ride out with friends.

The drop off system means you can concentrate 100% on riding the roads rather than navigating your way. It also means you can ride at your own pace without fear of holding up the faster riders or being held up by the slower guys (unless you are on a breathless GS trying to overtake a yellow 675 Daytona on the straight…man that thing could accelerate).

The Tour? Yes as billed the roads were simply stunning.
Some of the best biking roads I have ever ridden on.
Sancerre to Dijon was just amazing, made even more so by the late afternoon sun while we were thrashing into Dijon alongside the river. I didn’t know whether to enjoy the road or admire the scenery and I just wanted to turn around and do it all over again.
Hotels? No complaints as usual you managed to find good clean hotels in the right location with excellent secure parking.
So, that was my second tour with Bike Normandy this year and I will certainly be coming back for more!! Looking forward to next year…”

“We have been basking in memories of a very special time with you and a great bunch of people, and feel really relaxed as a result of a week of laughter, great riding and great food and wine. The memories of golden beer and balloons, wisteria walks and fountains, group photos and food, all enhance the thrill of the gears changing down into those bends.. For me, on pillion, I recall those lovely roads, through fields of vibrant yellow rape and deep green corn, the hedges of yellow laburnum with a backdrop of a cloudless blue sky…You are two of the world’s best, thanks for doing what you do so well, looking forward to next time”
